Why I'm Running to Represent Wards 1 & 3

Leadership begins with listening and making sure every voice is heard.
For many of us, this area is more than a place to live. It is where families gather, neighbours help one another, and traditions are passed from generation to generation. It is a place defined by its people, its water, and its natural beauty.
As I listened to residents across Wards 1 and 3, I came to a simple conclusion:
I Want to Do More.
I am running for District Council because I want to help protect what makes our communities special while ensuring they remain vibrant, affordable, and sustainable for future generations.
Township and District Councils make decisions that affect our taxes, services, infrastructure, public safety, the environment, and long-term sustainability. Those decisions shape everyday life in our communities and deserve careful consideration, sound judgment, and strong advocacy.
Residents Deserve Strong and Effective Representation
Residents shouldn't need a municipal governance degree to understand where their tax dollars go and what they're getting in return.
Through conversations with residents, I have learned that many people want a clearer understanding of how their tax dollars are spent, how priorities are established, and how decisions made at both the Township and District levels affect their daily lives.
Most residents receive a single property tax bill, yet a significant portion supports District services. Residents deserve strong representation, clear accountability, and confidence that someone is asking the tough questions and doing the homework on their behalf.
Rooted in the Community
I have proudly called Port Severn part-time home since 2009 and full-time home since 2019.
Through volunteering, community leadership, and years of building relationships across the Township, I have developed a deep appreciation for the people who make this area special and a strong commitment to its future.
I also have tremendous respect for the generations of families who built these communities and for the Indigenous peoples whose longstanding relationship with this land and water predates our municipal boundaries.

Throughout my business career in four countries and seven years of local volunteer community leadership, people have trusted me to tackle difficult challenges.
My approach is simple:
Listen carefully. Understand the facts. Ask the right questions. Deliver practical results.
Whether working through financial, governance, infrastructure, or community issues, I have learned that the best outcomes come from preparation, collaboration, and a willingness to do the work.
I want to use that experience to help protect what makes these communities special while ensuring they remain vibrant, affordable, and sustainable for future generations.
A Commitment to Every Community
Wards 1 and 3 include many distinct communities, from MacTier in the north to Port Severn in the south, as well as Georgian Bay and inland lake communities, including Little Lake, Gloucester Pool, Six Mile Lake, Go Home Lake, Gibson Lake, and many others.
We are also strengthened by residents with different backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and perspectives.
Every resident deserves to be heard, respected, and fairly represented.
My commitment is simple:
- Listen.
- Do the homework.
- Represent every community fairly.
- Treat every resident with respect.
- Earn trust through informed and transparent decision-making.
The priorities that follow reflect what I have heard most often from residents and the commitments I am prepared to make in response.

Over the coming months, I look forward to continuing conversations with residents across our communities.
The best decisions begin with listening.
The strongest representation comes from understanding local priorities and ensuring those priorities are heard at both the Township and District tables.
