Election Day is October 26, 2026. Voting opens at 10:00 a.m. on October 14 and closes at 8:00 p.m. on October 26.
Every election, some eligible voters discover they are missing from the voters’ list or that their information needs updating.
Voter registration and eligibility decisions are administered by the Township of Georgian Bay. Checking your registration status through the Township’s voter lookup portal takes less than two minutes.
Voting Method
The Township of Georgian Bay uses internet and telephone voting, allowing eligible voters to cast their ballot from virtually anywhere during the voting period.
You can vote using a computer, tablet, smartphone, or telephone.
Registered voters will receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL) by mail containing the credentials needed to access the voting system and cast their ballot. Keep this letter in a safe place, as you will need the information it contains to vote.

October 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. through October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
Vote anywhere, anytime using internet or telephone voting.
What Happens Next?

Enter your information to check whether you are currently on the Voters’ List.
If your information is found, you’re all set.
If the portal indicates that you are not on the Voters’ List, you will be given the opportunity to register online through the Township’s voter registration process.
You can complete the registration request by uploading acceptable identification directly through the portal. Common forms of identification include:
- Ontario Driver’s Licence
- Ontario Health Card (Photo Card)
- Ontario Photo Card
You will also be required to certify that you are a Canadian citizen.
Need Voting Assistance?
While the Township uses internet and telephone voting, Township staff will operate Voter Help Centres during the voting period.
At these locations, voters will be able to:
- Receive assistance with voter registration and voter list updates.
- Receive help if they have questions about their voting credentials.
- Use Township-provided tablets to cast their ballot online.
- Receive assistance from election staff before completing and submitting their ballot privately.
Dates, times, and locations for Voter Help Centres will be announced by the Township of Georgian Bay and will be posted on the Township’s election website.
