For seven years, I have worked through many of the same challenges municipalities face every day: infrastructure, budgets, governance, development, contracts, legal agreements, long-term planning, and protecting residents' interests.
As an elected volunteer board member and president, I earned the trust of neighbours who elected me three times and learned firsthand that good outcomes come from preparation, persistence, respectful negotiation, and the patience to work through complex issues until a practical solution is found.

A Little About Me
I am a permanent resident of the Township of Georgian Bay, a community volunteer, and someone who cares deeply about the future of this area.
What drew me here is what draws so many others: the water, the natural beauty, the sense of community, and the people.
Like many residents, I value the unique character of Georgian Bay, our inland lakes, and the communities that make this area special.
Protecting the natural environment is not only about conservation. It is also about protecting the quality of life, local economy, and way of life that draw people to Georgian Bay in the first place.
I understand that both year-round and seasonal residents care deeply about this area and want to see it protected, strengthened, and preserved for future generations.
I understand that every part of Wards 1 and 3 has its own priorities and perspectives. From MacTier and Go Home Lake to Port Severn, Gloucester Pool, Six Mile Lake, and our surrounding shoreline and rural communities, residents care deeply about protecting what makes this area special while planning responsibly for the future.
I also volunteer with the Georgian Bay Food Bank because I believe strong communities are built when people support one another.

For seven years, I have worked alongside residents, engineers, lawyers, auditors, developers, property managers, and government officials on issues affecting our community.
That work included:
- Leading complex negotiations involving infrastructure, community interests, long-term obligations, and multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Helping secure significant infrastructure improvements, including major road renewal projects and long-term infrastructure commitments, through planning, complex negotiations, and resident advocacy.
- Managing reserve funding and long-term financial planning.
- Working through governance, compliance, and accountability challenges.
- Protecting residents' interests while balancing competing priorities.
- Building consensus and practical solutions among multiple stakeholders.
- Advocating for stronger governance, transparency, and accountability in organizations serving residents and communities.
I learned that leadership is not about making promises.
It is about doing the homework, understanding the facts, communicating clearly, and following through.
I believe residents deserve someone who will ask the questions, do the homework, and stay engaged until the work is done.
Some of the most important community improvements I've helped achieve were the result of years of respectful but persistent negotiation, where maintaining strong relationships was just as important as protecting residents' interests.
Community Leadership Example
Listening First. Acting on Evidence.
When a proposal was brought forward to relocate the Port Severn Library into the Baxter Ward Community Centre, many residents felt they had not been adequately consulted and important questions remained unanswered.
Rather than simply opposing the proposal, I focused on gathering evidence, understanding community priorities, and ensuring Council had access to meaningful resident input before making a decision. I organized a community survey, gathered and analyzed feedback, and presented the findings directly to Council through a formal delegation. The work helped bring community perspectives, transparency, and evidence into the decision-making process. It also reinforced my belief that strong outcomes depend on transparency, accountability, and ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them.
Residents deserve to be informed, consulted, and heard before important decisions are made. That is the same approach I will bring to every decision at both the Township and District tables.

Professional Experience
Before retiring, I spent more than 20 years in senior leadership roles with JP Morgan, ABN AMRO, and CIBC across Canada, Europe, and the United States.
My work focused on governance, strategic planning, risk management, financial oversight, budget accountability, regulatory compliance, and leading complex initiatives in highly regulated environments.
